What a charming find!! This is an original vintage French wallpaper roll from around the 1930s, printed by the celebrated Paul Dumas workshop in Paris! The design is so sweet and cheerful—tiny bouquets and sprigs of roses, violets, and other florals scattered across a cream background, with a delicate white curlicue pattern softly winding behind. The palette includes pinks, blues, yellows, purples, and greens—classic French and oh-so-pretty! I found a few rolls of this, each different sizes. Im using the same photographs to show the pattern ~ to view the others simply search my store for the words " Paul Dumas wallpaper" and they will all appear! ~

The surface is slightly textured, and the colors are still bright and fresh, printed using an early screen or block technique. Along the edge, you can see the name PAUL DUMAS and FABRICATION FRANÇAISE, along with the old color registration dots, which just adds to the magic of this piece! A very very rare find!~
Paul Dumas was one of the most important wallpaper producers in France during the early 20th century, working with great designers like Paul Poiret. Based in Paris, his workshop produced high-end scenic papers and small-scale patterns like this one, which were used in elegant French homes and exported worldwide. His work is now collected by museums including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
This roll is such a lovely example of French domestic design from the interwar years— A rare survivor from a celebrated French atelier!

Not only do I feel so lucky to share these antique and vintage treasures for use in our homes today, but this also supports eco-friendly practices by giving old materials a new life through upcycling and creative reuse.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: This roll is approximately 3.2 yards long by 29 inches wide! ( the widest vintage wallpaper Ive ever found! )
CONDITION:
This roll of wallpaper has a tear on the starting edge. There are age marks also on this roll on the back and also in places on the front of the wallpaper ~ A RARE and fabulous find ~*~ Signs of time to be expected ~*~
