This is an original hand-colored print - #223 - from the royal octavo first edition of John
James Audubons Birds of America, published 1840-1844.
Lithographed, printed, and colored by J.T. Bowen, Philadelphia, 1840-44.
The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of JohnJamesAudubon
and features strictly hand-coloring.
The credits are in italics,as required.
Includes a facsimile of the title page.
Comes in a plastic protector, and will be sandwiched between wider foam boards for mailing.
